1. Sr. Engineer/Engineer

Cognika is looking for superstar software engineers at various positions. The positions need knowledge and experience in one or more of the following technologies:

  • Machine Learning & AI using Bayesian, Neural Networks and other pattern recognition techniques
  • Semantic Web Technologies - OWL/RDF and Reasoning mechanisms
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Advanced Statistics/Analytics
  • Web crawling/indexing (Lucene/Nutch/Solr Experience preferred)
  • Distributed computing frameworks (Hadoop preferred)
  • Highly available enterprise systems for performance and scalability
  • Processing terascale datasets
  • Agile Methodologies
  • Graph-Theoretic Algorithms (Nodes, Edges, Depth First Search etc)
  • Scalable web applications using web frameworks (such as RoR, Django etc.)
  • Web Services (SOAP, REST)

2. Interns - Risk Management

Cognika is looking for interns during the Spring-2009 term to work on applying risk modeling/mitigation methodologies in multiple real-world, high-visibility projects.The objective is to develop risk-models using a variety of information sources (qualitative & quantitative) and recommend mitigation strategies using techniques such as Design Structure Matrix(DSM), regression models etc.The candidate should have a strong quantitative background with knowledge of various modeling approaches.

 

This is an unpaid internship, with the possibility of turning into a paid internship and/or employment. Please apply with your resume and some background on what you bring to the position.

 

3. Interns - Product Management

Cognika is looking for interns during the Spring-2009 term to work on developing specifications for Cognika's products.The internship involves interacting with the technology and management teams to define features and grow products based on market requirements. This position will also require conducting extensive competitive research on markets and develop market-entry strategies. Technical, analytical and strategic planning skills are vital to performing successfully in this position.
